Due to the ongoing updates surrounding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), including the recent Shelter in Place Order issued by the Alameda County Health Officer on March 16, 2020 and the emergency proclamation by the City of Fremont, there have been changes to many community events and City projects/programs that are not reflected in the spring issue of City News, which was delivered to the Post Office this week.
Please note that some events noted in the newsletter, including our annual Earth Day Fair, set to take place on Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington West Building is now canceled. Similarly, the annual Compost Giveaway event, scheduled for Sunday, April 5 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station has been postponed.
The City of Fremont is monitoring COVID-19’s impacts to our community in close coordination with local agencies, and regional public health and emergency medical services personnel to ensure the safety of our residents. All City events and non-essential meetings are canceled through April 7, 2020, or until further notice as City officials continue to evaluate the situation.
