The City of Fremont is holding a Special Meeting – City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. for City staff to review the evaluation results of potential sites to locate a housing navigation center in Fremont. A housing navigation center is a facility that transitions those experiencing homelessness into permanent housing, stabilization, and self-sufficiency through coordinated services.
This Special Meeting-Work Session begins at 5:30 p.m. at Fremont City Hall, located at 3300 Capitol Ave. The regularly scheduled Fremont City Council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m., will follow the Special Meeting-Work Session. The Special Meeting-Work Session agenda has been published and can be accessed from the Agenda Center. All Council meetings are available to watch live or rebroadcast via Channel 27, The Fremont Government Channel, or the City’s website. Learn more at Channel 27.
The July 9 Special Meeting-Work Session will serve as follow-up to the June 18 Special Meeting-Work Session where the City Council received an update on homelessness and provided direction to City staff to pursue finding a location for a housing navigation center in Fremont. Previous staff presentations to the City Council about homelessness included a City Council Study Session on April 17, 2018 and a regularly scheduled Council meeting on July 17, 2018.
